Sabbath was never a reward for finishing. It is a gift, given before you have done a single thing to deserve it.
For a woman who has spent years being the one others could count on, that may be one of the hardest, most freeing things to believe. But rest is not the same as stopping because you have finally run out. Rest is trust with skin on - a quiet act of faith that says the world will keep turning, held by hands far surer than yours.
You are allowed to set it down. You are allowed to breathe. And underneath all of it, the truest thing remains: you are already beloved. Not for what you carry, not for how well you hold it together ... simply, and completely, loved.
Father, thank you that I do not have to hold everything together today. Thank you that I am your beloved daughter - not because I earned it, but because you say so. Quiet the part of me that keeps striving. Teach me to trust you in the resting. And let me receive, just for this moment, the love that was always mine. Amen.

My faith is not a set of ideas I once agreed to. It is a Person I have walked with - tested in the hardest seasons, and found faithful every single time. So I can bring Him all of it ... even my questions.

And the engraving tool was the nails. The scars where they pierced His hands share the very place where my name is written - held there, at that cost, and never once forgotten.

May you leave this quiet place lighter than you came. May you carry the knowing that you are deeply loved, safely held, and never alone. And as you step back into your day, may you remember who you are - and rest in the One who has never once forgotten you.
